The event will be on Thursday, December 8th. It starts at 7:00 p.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m.
Grade 8 Students, their parents/guardians, and OCDSB educators are welcomed to attend.
This event is a great opportunity for you to learn about subjects, programs, and other exciting aspects of high school. You will be able to ask questions and learn about topics that interest you.
This virtual event will start with opening remarks, followed by 4 consecutive sessions. You have the choice to attend a variety of subject-specific, program, and support-specific sessions.
All sessions will be recorded so you will be able to attend live ones and watch as many as you would like at a later time.
It is important to register for this event. You will also have the opportunity to login and create your personal schedule prior to the day of the event.
The event is powered by vFairs and is friendly across browsers. It is also accessible on both laptops and chromebooks. If you have any problems, the vFairs tech crew is ready to assist you by EMAIL. There will also be live help during the event.
We ask that students and educators use their Board email (ie. name@ocdsb.ca) instead of personal email addresses.
You won’t be able to access the event until December 8th at 7:00pm, when the event starts. At that time, when you click “sign in,” you will just need to input your email address and the password you created when you registered. Be sure to choose a password you will remember when you register.
You will be able to ask questions through the chat function in the exhibitor booths. Don’t be shy - the representatives are excited to answer your questions!
All video recordings will be made accessible a week after the event.
Contacting you/your child’s current school is a great first step, as they are prepared to facilitate the transition of grade 8 students to their secondary schools. Should you want to know more, consider reaching out to you/your child’s grade 9 school.
